Looking to redesign your dining room this fall? If you want to be on trend, there’s one type of decor you should definitely consider incorporating into the space, and that’s sculptural decor.

Sculptural decor is having a serious moment, and can help you transform your dining room space with pieces that feel bold and artistic without going over the top, or too avant-garde.

But how, exactly, do you work those pieces into your dining room?

A recent article from realtor.com outlined some of the trendier ways to incorporate sculptural decor into your dining room (courtesy of Instagram!), including:

  • A metallic mirror. If you’re looking to embrace the sculptural decor trend with a bold statement piece, consider a metallic mirror in an interesting, unexpected shape. This will act as a focal piece for the room and make a statement, even if the rest of your dining room design is more subdued and/or neutral.
  • Art deco-inspired chairs. Art deco furniture design often incorporates more sculptural elements, making the design style a great choice for your dining room furniture, like art deco chairs with a curved back and strong lines, for example.
  • Pottery displays. Want to try the sculptural trend, but aren’t ready to fully commit? Not a problem! Adding sculptural pottery pieces throughout the room, like vases or sculptures, can add visual interest without feeling overwhelming. Just make sure that you stick to the “rule of threes” and include at least three pieces of varying widths and heights, which will make for a more aesthetically pleasing display, if you’re grouping multiple pieces together.
